Jonathan Eyre is a London based freelance conductor and organist. He is organist of the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, where he is the principal organist to the choir of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. In addition, he is organist to the University of Sheffield, and maintains a busy schedule of recitals, concerts and recordings, as well as being in demand as a conductor and piano accompanist.
Jonathan was educated at the University of Sheffield where he held the organ scholarship at Sheffield Cathedral. He was subsequently Director of Music at St Nicholas Church, Harpenden, Master of the Choristers at Willington Preparatory School in Wimbledon, and most recently Assistant Director of Music at Bradford Cathedral.
As a recitalist, he has performed across the UK, and currently maintains a series of silent film concerts throughout the UK. Jonathan has released two solo organ CDs from Bradford Cathedral, and will shortly feature on a CD of works by Roderick Williams with the ORNC Choir.
Jonathan holds choral directing and organ performance diplomas from the Royal College of Organists and Trinity College, London.
